(C. Proxmire, July 9, 2015)
Something different is brewing (or shall we say M-Brew-ing) for the 2015 Dream Cruise.
The folks at M-Brew have teamed up with local vintage camper collectors to set up camp right in the middle of Vester Street for the Dream Cruise weekend.
Folks with 1950s and 60s era Shastas, Air Streams and other retro styles are invited to be part of nicholas-schrock-allstatethe unique campground and antiques swap.
Vester Street will be blocked off and campers will rule the street in front of M-Brew and Valentine Vodka.
“We found there is not much traffic on Vester during the Dream Cruise because people are so focused on Woodward. So why not do something different and fun,” said M-Brew proprietor Dean Bach. “We had a friend of mine come last year and parked his Shasta in our loading zone to stay for the cruise. A street full of these cool old campers, that goes right with M-Brew and the up north road trip theme.
“1.5 million people watching over 40,000 of the coolest automobiles in the world can now have a place to take in the vintage camper craze with a taste of Summertime in Northern Michigan,” the Camp Vester website boasts.RustBeltAd01
Bach’s friend Lisa Marie O’Sullivan is helping to organize the event. She and other “Tin Can Tourists” are giving the pop up urban campground a great start, though a few spots are still available. Campers arrive Friday afternoon and spend Friday and Saturday night.
And of course they will be close to M-Brew’s Basement Brewcade, featuring: Pinball, Burger Time, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Centipede, Shuffleboard, Bubble hockey, Darts, and more. M-Brew features pizza made with Pinconning cheese and other Michigan favorites like frozen custard, pasties, and Frankenmuth style chicken.
Spaces are limited. Get more info and register online at http://www.campvester.com/.
