June 27th, 2015 @ 9am!

As all are aware, Better Pontiac is sponsoring a clean up of Murphy Park (441 Martin Luther King Blvd, Pontiac, MI 48341) As of right now, we have 42 volunteers comprised of residents, folks from Better Pontiac, and General Motors! This is exciting news and an amazing turn-out, in addition to demonstrating that the community will come together and work to make a better Pontiac! In 9 days we will be standing triumphant over Murphy Park, gazing down upon sidebar016growthe grand feat that we as a community accomplished. The Better Pontiac team identified some additional needs, and we added them to our plan – fix those giant potholes, and remove the graffiti from the concession building – we put together a list of items that will help us accomplish these two goals…

Here is what we need some help with:

3 to 5 Gallons of exterior flat paint – To remove graffiti from the concession building.

3 40 lb buckets of Gardener Ready Road Repair Pothole Patch – to fix those pot holes!

There is also the challenge of preventing the dumping of tires and trash at the bottom of the hill – We think a fence might help to deter these dumpers in the future – but we’ll need help in acquiring fencing and the installation.
