Woman Murdered in Clarkston Home, Husband Taken into Custody

INCIDENT:  17:16 hrs. – May 29, 2015 -Independence Township – Homicide Investigation / OCSO Forensic Lab Assist / OCSO Chaplain Corps Assist #15-81839
SUMMARY:  Deputies were dispatched to an address in the 6000 block of Cheshire Park Dr. on a welfare check.  The caller indicated that the female who resides at the address failed to show up for work today and did not call-in ill, which the caller reported to be out of character for her.  The caller went to house to check on her but did not get an answer at the door. He reported seeing a child looking out a window. 
When deputies arrived they knocked and received no answer at the door but, Deputies observed a child inside the home.  Deputies found what appeared to be blood splatter on the door and subsequently forced entry into the home.  Once inside the home they discovered the body of a female who was obviously deceased lying on the floor of the garage.  She appeared to have suffered severe blunt trauma. On further checking of the residence Deputies located the male resident (husband) of the home and two minor children a female age 2 and a male age 6 who were unharmed. The deceased female was identified as his wife. The family dog also was found deceased and the victim of severe blunt trauma. Two baseball bats were recovered as evidence as possible weapons used.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  Detectives responded to the scene along with the OCSO Forensic Lab to assist with the investigation.  The male resident was taken into custody and transported to the Independence Township Substation and then lodged at OCJ.  Representatives from the OCSO Chaplain’s Corp also responded to assist.  CPS was also notified and the children were TOT the grandparents. An investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded and took custody of the deceased.  The suspect husband was previously convicted of Domestic Violence in 2014. An autopsy is pending and the investigation continues with charges pending.
VICTIM: (Deceased): 30 year old female, resident of Independence Township.
SUSPECT: 32 year old male, resident of Independence Township lodged OCJ pending charges.
