Charity Seeks to Send At Risk Girls from Ferndale, OP and Berkley to Yoga Camp

For Carla Krzysiak, being able to attend summer camp for underprivileged youth helped her grow into the kind of person she is today. Sending kids to yoga camp is one of the reasons she co-founded Replenish Yoga Foundation in Pleasant Ridge.
Lead by Michelle O’Brien and Carla Krzysiak, Replenish Yoga Foundation helps single parents, at-risk youth, homeless clients, folks with health issues, as well as children with disabilities and their families.
“I grew up at an underprivileged summer camp that had an amazing effect on me, and so I have made this my life passion to provide a fun positive growing and learning environment for kids who need and want yoga,” Krzysiak said. We are lucky to have the beautiful facility which gives the girls an opportunity to have a variety of experiences like cooking classes, aqua yoga, workshops and more.”
In order to help fund the camp, which is $250 per young lady for a week, The Replenish Yoga Foundation has set up a crowdfunding site where individuals can donate. They’re also encouraging business owners to sponsor a girl for the camp. Businesses who sponsor a youth can have their logo on the camp shirt.
Their goal is to have camp for 24 girls. Because they are a 501-c-3 nonprofit, donations are deductible.
Krzysiak said. “This is a great opportunity for 24 young girls and hopefully more next year!”
