Would-be Robber Says “Have a
Nice Day” When Victim Pulls Gun

INCIDENT: 04:42 hrs. – – May 18 Independence Township – Armed Robbery / OCSO K-9 Assist #15-75338
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to an Armed Robbery on the 6000 Block of Dixie Highway. The victim arrived at DeVita Dialysis for his morning appointment when an unknown male stepped from the wooded area between the DeVita building and the Rite Aid store. The suspect approached the passenger side of his vehicle and asked the victim for his wallet. The victim stated that when he did not give up his wallet, the suspect pulled a small revolver from inside of his hoodie.
The victim then pulled a gun of his own on the suspect, and asked him “Do you really want to do this?” He stated that the suspect then said “Have a nice day”, and ran off back into the wooded area. The victim then proceeded into the dialysis clinic and started his treatment and called to report the incident. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s, with a darker complexion, wearing a hoodie and jeans.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: OCSO K-9 Deputy started a track from that location that went ¼ mile before the track was lost. The incident was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.
SUSPECT INFORMATION: A Hispanic Male approximately 20 years old, wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans and armed with a revolver.
VICTIM INFORMATION: A 49 year old male, resident of Waterford
