Michigan’s oldest Memorial Day Parade graced the streets of Downtown Ferndale Monday as hundreds of visitors came to honor those who gave their lives in service to the country. The parade included the Michigan’s Fallen Foot Float, where people carry signs to give recognition to the vast numbers of deceased soldiers from Michigan. At the end of the parade, a service was held, with the names of veterans who died over the past year read, along with speeches about the meaning of the day. This is the event’s 97th year.
