Shooting Victim Mandral Ross, Dies

Mandral Ross, age 19 of Pontiac died today at 1:04PM at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac.
An autopsy will be performed by the Oakland County Medical Examiner tomorrow. The case will be presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s’ Office on Saturday.
His brother is also age 19 and has been released from the hospital.
INCIDENT: 13:48 hrs. – City of Pontiac – Double Shooting Investigation. #15-76725
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the area of N. Johnson Street for a report of a gunshot victim. When deputies arrived, the victim had already walked into Doctor’s Hospital. The victim suffered from a gunshot wound to his left arm. He stated that his brother had also been shot and was somewhere in the area in a white van. The victim stated that he did not know the shooter but that his brother did. They had picked the suspect up to conduct some business. The victim stated that the suspect shot his brother in the van before shooting him in the arm. The van was located a short time later by Deputies in an alley between the 100 Block of Mary Day Street and the 100 Block of Henry Clay Street. A male victim was discovered slumped in the driver’s seat of the van with a gunshot wound to the head.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The first shooting victim was transported from Doctor’s Hospital to McLaren Oakland Hospital for further treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The second shooting victim was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital where he is in very critical condition as of 1:00PM Friday. An initial search of the area for the shooting suspect was unsuccessful. Detectives and the Sheriff’s Crime Lab responded to the scene.
UPDATED INFORMATION: The suspect was ultimately identified and located by the Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team in Detroit at approximately 1:30AM Friday morning and lodged OCJ pending charges. The suspected handgun used was also recovered by the team.
