Holly Teen Critically Injured in Accident, Alcohol May be Involved

INCIDENT:  22:38 hrs. –May 9, 2015 – Springfield Township – Serious Injury Crash / Operating While Intoxicated / Crash Reconstruction Unit Assist. #15-69498
SUMMARY:  Deputies responded to the area of Dixie Highway near Bay Shore Court for a single vehicle serious injury crash.  The female driver was operating a Dodge Ram pickup truck southbound on Dixie Highway when she lost control and left the roadway.  The vehicle then rolled over, striking a tree and then a telephone pole.  There were two young passengers in the vehicle; both 15 years of age and are not related to the driver.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  One of the young passengers was ejected during the crash.  She was taken to Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc by Star EMS and later transferred to Royal Oak Beaumont and is listed in critical condition.  The other young passenger was also transported to Genesys Regional Medical Center and is listed in serious but stable condition.  The driver fled the scene after the crash but was later apprehended by Deputies at a nearby apartment complex.  Alcohol is believed to be a factor.  The driver was arrested on the suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated and consented to a blood draw.  She was lodged at the Oakland County Jail.  The crash remains under investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Unit.
