Deputies Use NARCAN to Revive Unconscious Heroin User

INCIDENT: 05:31 Hrs. – May 8 – City of Pontiac – Welfare Check / Administration of NARCAN / OUID.  #15-68966.

SUMMARY: Deputies responded to Montcalm and Lakeside Dr. for a welfare check. The caller reported a red pickup stopped in the roadway with the occupants unconscious. Deputies arrived and found the truck running in the roadway occupied by a female driver and a male passenger, both were unconscious. Deputies attempted to wake the passenger without success. HowesLocationDeputies were ultimately able to wake the female driver and observed evidence of Heroin use inside the vehicle. Deputies administered NARCAN to the male passenger prior to EMS arrival and the victim regained consciousness.

OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Waterford Regional Fire Department and Star EMS arrived and took over medical care of the victim. The victim was transported to McLaren E.R. for further treatment.  The driver was arrested for Operating under Influence of Drugs and lodged at the Oakland County Jail. Deputies are continuing to investigate the incident.

This is the 4th NARCAN “save” by Deputies since the implementation of the program in February at the Sheriff’s Office and the 3rd save in the last 9 days by Deputies.steele lindbloom ad

ARRESTEE: 28 year old female resident of Waterford.

PASSENGER: 31 year old male resident of Waterford.
