Mae’s in Pleasant Ridge Sold, Whistle Stop to Take Over
(Crystal A. Proxmire, May 2, 2015)
Mae’s, the cute little diner in Pleasant Ridge where people would line up down the block for brunch, has been sold.
The announcement was made on Facebook Friday, stating:
“I want to thank all of our wonderful loyal customers for the past 5 years. Mae’s has been such a wonderful home away from home for me and I trust the new owners from The Whistle Stop will do a fantastic job continuing to serve you. They will be starting a new Facebook page coming soon. They will be closing for a few days this coming week for renovations and then will reopen. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart for your support over the years. If you need to contact me for any reason my email is lundgrenphotography@gmail.com
Jessica Lundgren”
In conversation on Facebook Lundgren said she did not know what the future would hold when the owners of The Whistle Stop took over. “Yes, there are new owners. I am not aware of what changes they will be making. My best hope is it will remain as close to what it has been.”
The Whistle Stop is a Birmingham-based breakfast joint.
