Ferndale Youth Assistance Offers Special Summer Camps
(FYA Press Release April 25, 2015)
Ferndale Youth Assistance has funds available to help send kids in the Ferndale School District or those that attend Ferndale Schools may be eligible. The camp scholarships are made possible by those who donate to FYA through the year or who attend fundraisers that benefit the group.
Camp Choices for this year are:
Camp Skyline (overnight camp – ages 7-14)
City of Ferndale Day Camp (Kulick Center – ages 5-11)
YMCA Day Camp (on Eleven Mile in Royal Oak)
Specialty camps such as football, band, writer’s camp, etc. (Maximum $250 scholarship)
Please note that all application will require approval of a school principal, counselor or the camp committee.
Applications will be reviewed in the order received. Children who have never attended camp through FYA will be given priority and will be put at the top of the list. If your child has attended camp through FYA previously, they will be put on a waiting list. Their place on the waiting list will be determined by how long ago and how many times they have attended.
There is a $20 co-pay for each camper. We are no longer offering the option of volunteering in lieu of co-pay.
It is your responsibility to provide transportation to and from day camp for your child. Please do not apply for camp if you are unable to commit to ensuring that your child attends camp on a daily basis during their scheduled week. For children attending Camp Skyline, parents will need to provide transportation to and from The Kulick Center. We will provide transportation to and from Camp Skyline.
IF YOUR CHILD MISBEHAVES AT CAMP, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE ABLE TO PICK THEM UP FROM CAMP AND BRING THEM HOME EARLY, IF NECESSARY. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR CAMP IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT.
If you have any questions, please call the FYA office at 248-586-8700.
ALL COMPLETED CAMP APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN APRIL 30, 2015.
