A Parade of Green and Irish
Pride Graces Downtown Royal Oak
(Ron Arnold, March 17, 2015)
St. Patrick’s Day celebrating began early in Royal Oak as the community enjoyed the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday. Hosted by The Norman O’Brien Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the parade featured green-clad community groups, smiling school children, kilted bagpipers, and the sounds of marching band tunes. The event drew hundreds of people to Downtown Royal Oak where the party continues all week with many local pubs and clubs offering green beer and meals of corned beef and cabbage.
Royal Oaker Ron Arnold captured a taste of the festivities, graciously sharing his photos below.
