More about Enough SAID:
Enough SAID (Enough Sexual Assault in Detroit) is an independent collaboration between the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, the Detroit Crime Commission and Michigan Women’s Foundation to bring justice to forgotten victims of sexual assault. A group of private foundations is financing the infrastructure for the fundraising effort, so that 100% of all donations will go directly to our cause.
In 2009, more than 11,000 unopened, untested rape kits were found in a Detroit Police lisa schmidt lawDepartment storage unit, representing thousands of unprosecuted sexual assaults, thousands of sex offenders still on the streets, and thousands of victims without the justice they deserve.
Economic constraints in Detroit and Wayne County have put this justice out of reach. But these victims shouldn’t have to wait another day.
Enough SAID has been granted federal and state government funding to get testing started. Once the testing is complete, more money is needed to prosecute the cases. Help us raise the money to test these kits, and investigate and prosecute the cases. Every victim deserves justice. Help us get that justice and make our community safer for everyone.
