Crime Prevention for Older Adults in Auburn Hills Feb. 9gallowaycollens1
(Press Release, Jan. 25, 2015)
Each year, many seniors fall victim to crime, injury and illness. To help keep older adults safe and out of harm’s way, Pixley Funeral Home is hosting a free seminar at the Auburn Hills Community Center on February 9th at 12:00pm.  The program is designed to empower older adults by discussing how simple strategies and techniques can be used to increase personal safety.  This presentation is a component of the Dignity Memorial Smart and Safe Living® sidebar016growprogram, which is designed to provide older adults with information on how to effectively protect themselves and their loved ones so they can lead safe, active and productive lives for years to come. Since the program’s creation in 1996, thousands of seniors throughout the U.S. and Canada have attended free, informative presentations on topics such as heat safety, identity theft, and fire and burn safety.  This particular event will focus on preventing home invasion and cons & scams and will include a light lunch.  For additional information or to register, please contact the Auburn Hills Community Center at 248-370-9400.
