Royal Oak Seeking Public Art for East 11 Mile Road, $40,000 Budgeted
(City of Royal Oak, Jan. 20, 2015)
The Royal Oak Commission for the Arts (ROCFA) is excited to announce a call for artists to submit proposals for permanent display of public art along east 11 Mile Road from Troy to Campbell Road in Royal Oak, Michigan.
ROCFA is encouraging artists to apply with proposals for a single piece that would be displayed alongside other artists’ work or an entire series that would be exclusively placed along the corridor. Up to $40,000 is budgeted for the purchase and installation of artwork for the entire project. Artists will be responsible for the creation, transportation and installation of work. Concrete bases may be supplied if needed. Preference may be given to work that has already been completed. Conceptual proposals will be entertained only if the artwork can be created within the presented timeline and complete applications are submitted with clear and detailed specifications.
How to Submit a Proposal
Artists interested in submitting proposals for consideration must submit a completed application with required attachments at:

Proposals will be reviewed and juried by a committee of ROCFA members and community art representatives that have not yet been selected.
