On Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at approximately 12:40 p.m. the Charter One Bank at 125 Stephenson Hwy. was robbed by a white male suspect who fled on foot. The suspect implied having a weapon and was described as being approximately 35-years-old; 6’0,” 180 lbs. with light skin, blue eyes and wearing a dark hoodie with what appeared to be a possible bullet resistant vest underneath; baggy jeans and black leather gloves.
The suspect crossed 14 mile (south bound) on foot and was observed by an alert witness who was at the bank and then followed safely in her vehicle with the suspect eventually entering Reid_Sally_115an older black pickup truck in the lot of a McDonalds. The suspect entered the passenger side of the truck with a driver in the truck and it left McDonalds onto 14 Mile.
A similar suspect was observed at the Chase Bank robbery on January 6, 2015 in Huntington Woods (below photo). Investigators assigned to the FBI Oakland County Gangs & Violent Crimes Task Force assisted Troy Police Investigators with identifying an individual believed to be responsible for these robberies. On the evening of January 13th, investigators, officers, and agents from the task force, Troy Police Special Investigations Unit, Warren Police Department, Michigan Department of Corrections and Michigan State Police seed48030_barbara_winter_janfebmarch2015arrested the suspect on unrelated charges without incident. Federal prosecution will be pursued by the FBI Oakland County Gangs & Violent Crimes Task Force through the Office of the Assistant United States Attorney.
