Man Narrowly Escapes Death in Tussle w/ Armed Teen
INCIDENT: 02:01 hours – City Of Pontiac – Attempt Murder / Shots fired #14-200010
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the 10 block of Spokane Road for a fight in progress with shots fired. Upon arrival, Deputies were advised by the victim that he confronted a subject in his sister’s vehicle, which was parked in front of the residence. The victim stated that he pulled the suspect out of the vehicle and was attempting to restrain him while his sister called 911. A struggle ensued and the suspect pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired one round, which ricocheted off the street. The victim attempted to flee, falling to the ground. The suspect chased the victim, pointed his weapon at him at point blank range. The victim grabbed the gun and was able to point it away from his head as another round was fired by the suspect. The victim was able to disarm the suspect and the suspect fled the scene on foot.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Deputies and a K-9 unit set up a perimeter. The suspect was located a short distance from the residence. The suspect was identified by the victims. The handgun was recovered and had been reported stolen from Waterford Twp. PD. The suspect was taken into custody and lodged at Children’s Village.
ARRESTEE INFORMATION: A 16 yr. old male resident of Waterford Twp.
VICTIM INFORMATION: A 26 year old male resident of Pontiac
