Robbery Attempt in Bingham Farms

At about 8:15pm on Monday, 12/15/14, in the area of 13 Mile & Telegraph a Bingham Farms resident was approached as she was retrieving her mail from the mailbox. An unknown male demanded money from the resident as she stood at her mailbox. The unknown subject was described as being a male, about 5’8″ in height, African American, and wearing all black clothing including a ski mask. A handgun was implied, but never seen by the victim. As the victim was retrieving cash from her purse, the subject apparently got nervous and ran off without obtaining any money. No vehicle was seen and no other witnesses were found. Attempts were made with police tracking dogs to locate the subject with negative results. Any questions or information concerning this matter can be directed to Det./Sgt.
