Pontiac to Light Tree of Hope Dec. 5nicholas-schrock-allstate
(Pontiac DBA Press Release, Nov. 28, 2014)
Every year the community of Pontiac rings in the Holiday season by lighting the Tree of Hope and hearing the incredible voices of our community youth.  The community of Pontiac and the Pontiac Downtown Business Association invite you to come ring in the Holiday’s with us on December 5th.
The annual event has become a tradition for the community to come together to welcome the Holiday spirit.  It is quite seed22_Angela_Fisherappropriate that in Pontiac we call the tree the Tree of Hope.  We bring light to the Tree of Hope once a year kicking off holiday festivities.  The tree has historical significance as it is in honor and remembrance of Judge Anderson, one of the former judges at the 50th District Court House in which the tree resides.  Following the lighting we continue the festivities by enjoying several of our youth choirs.  After the carolers perform, all attendees are invited to the curch reception area to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies donated by SAMs Club of Waterford and served by Boy Scout Trop 51, under the direction of Scoutmaster Rick Newill
All the boys and girls that sing in the youth choirs also get excited to share in Santa’s arrival the following day during the Holiday Extravaganza parade.
Join us in lighting Pontiac’s Tree of Hope on Friday, December 5th starting at 6:00 in front of the 50th District Court House followed by the voices of our community youth singing at First Presbyterian Church starting at 7:00 all located in Downtown Pontiac.
