Man Punches Sheriff’s Deputy at Bar in Lake Orion

INCIDENT: 01:34 hrs. – Orion Township – Disorderly Person / Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer (R&O) / Assault and Battery on a Police Officer (A&B on PO) / Taser Deployment – #14- 184562
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the 600 block of Lapeer Road (Opa’s Bar) for a fight. While escorting one of the detained subjects to a patrol car, the suspect turned and swung at the Deputy and struck him. The Deputy then had to deployed a Taser to gain control of the subject. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident or injury to him or the Deputy.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The suspect was lodged at OCJ on charges of Disorderly Person and Assault on a Police Officer.
