Featured Speakers:
Theresa Flores is a Human Trafficking Survivor from Birmingham, Michigan. She is a Victims Advocate and the Director of Education & Training for Gracehaven House. Ms. Flores travels the U.S. sharing her story of trafficking and being a sex slave while living in an upper-middle class suburb of Detroit, Michigan. At age 15, she was drugged, raped and tortured for two long years. She was kept in bondage, forced to pay back an impossible debt as a sex slave. Ms. Flores endured more as a child than most adults will ever face their entire lives.
Ms. Flores is a licensed social worker for more than 20 years. She received her Master’s in Counseling Education from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Ball State University. Ms. Flores is the author of “The Slave Across the Street”, a USA Today and Wall Street Journal best seller. Her second book “Sacred Bath”, is an international book and top seller on the UK Sunday Times list. She is also a much sought after international speaker and lectures on many aspects of Human Trafficking sharing both her gallowaycollens1personal perspective as well as a her professional expertise on the issue. Ms. Flores is featured by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Ohio and has been invited as a guest on The 700 Club, The Today Show, and, MSNBC’s Sex Slaves-The Teen Trade. She has also been featured on Nightline, America’s Most Wanted, and For the Record as a sex slave survivor.
