Fatal Crash in Independence Township Under Investigation

INCIDENT: 14:31 Hrs. – Nov 5 – Independence Township – Fatal Traffic Crash Investigation / Investigator Callout – #14-175542 and 14-175580  
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to a multi vehicle crash on south bound Sashabaw Road north of Stickney Road. A Dodge Avenger operated by a 27 year old Ortonville resident was traveling north bound on Sashabaw Road when the driver drove left of center, striking a south bound Ford Fusion. A Nissan Titan was traveling south bound on Sashabaw and was struck by the crash debris.
 
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The occupants of the Ford Fusion were trapped inside the vehicle and were extricated by Independence Township Fire Department. An OCSO Crash Reconstructionist was requested and responded to the scene for the investigation. The passenger of the Ford Fusion was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital and pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford Fusion was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital and is in guarded condition. The driver of the Nissan was not injured in the crash. The driver of the Dodge Avenger was treated and released. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash. All occupants were wearing seat belts.      
   
DECEASED INFORMATION:  Passenger, Ford Fusion -82 year old female resident of Independence Twp.
DRIVER – Ford Fusion: 82 year old male resident of Independence Twp.  
DRIVER – Dodge Avenger: 27 year old resident of Brandon Twp.
DRIVER – Nissan Titan:  43 year old resident of Waterford Twp.
