Robber Tackled and Held by Witnesses, Arrested by Police in Ferndale

On Saturday morning (Friday night) 11/01/14, Ferndale police arrested a man for Armed Robbery after he was captured and detained by citizens.
According to the victim and witnesses, shortly before 1:00 a.m. a 49 year old woman was walking on Allen near 9 Mile when a would be robber grabbed her in a choke hold. His hand was inside of a potato chip bag and he put his hand to her head and demanded her money or he would shoot her. The victim was with two male friends who were walking in front of her. The men grabbed the robber who broke loose and began to run away. The victim’s friends chased the robber, tackled him, and held him for police.

UPDATE:
A warrant was issued for Armed Robbery and the suspect, SCHUMAKE, was arraigned by Magistrate Brennan who set bond at $75,000 cash/surety.
