14 Year Old Injured by School Bus Not Yielding in Lyon Township

INCIDENT: 07:13 Oct. 28 -Hrs. – Township of Lyon – Pedestrian Personal Injury Crash  #14-170692
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to 9 Mile and Pontiac Trail for a juvenile that ran into the side of a bus as it was turning a corner. The school bus was turning from west bound 9 Mile onto north bound Pontiac Trail. The juvenile had the right of way crossing the street. Due to the rain and darkness, the bus driver did not see the juvenile. The juvenile struck the side of the bus between the door and the front mirror.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  The juvenile was transported to Providence Hospital in Novi by Huron Valley Ambulance. She received a bump on her head and complained of shoulder pain. She was subsequently released from the hospital. The investigation continues.  
VICTIM INFORMATION: 14 Year old female resident of South Lyon 
DRIVER INFORMATION: 49 Year old female resident of Redford
