Cyclist Injured in Commerce Township Accidentlisa schmidt law

INCIDENT: 16:28 Hrs.- Oct. 26 – Township of Commerce – Pedestrian Personal Injury Crash / Investigator Callout – #14-169802
The Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting deputies from the Commerce Township Substation with the investigation of a serious injury crash that occurred at 3:32 p.m. on Richardson Road near Haggerty Road.
A 23 year old male resident of Commerce Township was operating a 2009 Dodge Caliber in a shopping center parking lot. A 34 year old male resident of West Bloomfield was riding his bicycle keith dalton adon the eastbound shoulder on Richardson Road.
The driver of the Dodge was turning left onto Richardson when he stuck the bicyclist as he was crossing the private driveway.
The bicyclist was transported to Botsford Hospital by Community EMS in serious condition.
The driver of the Dodge was uninjured and wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash. The bicyclist was wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation
