Driver of Vehicle Fatally Shot in Pontiac, Second Victim in Serious Condition

INCIDENT 23:35 Hrs. – Oct 20 – City Of Pontiac – Homicide  #14-166574
 
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the 300 block of Linda Vista for multiple shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a black Impala that had collided with a pole on the S/E corner of Linda Vista and Valencia. The black Impala was still in gear with the front tires spinning. Deputies approached the vehicle and discovered the rear left window was shattered and the driver slumped over the steering wheel. A closer observation revealed that the driver suffered from multiple gunshot wounds to the neck and chest area. A witness reported a dark colored vehicle leaving the scene. A short time later dispatch was advised of an additional victim who had arrived at an area hospital who also had multiple gunshot wounds.
 
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Deputies secured the scene and gathered statements from the residences in the area. The victim (driver) was transported to the hospital for immediate surgery. The Forensic Lab was requested and processed the scene. Detectives responded to further investigate. The first victim was pronounced deceased at 0340 Hrs. The second victim is listed in temporary serious condition at an area hospital. The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.

(Victim #1 (Driver) / Deceased): 21 year old male resident of Pontiac.
 
(Victim #2): 26 year old male resident of Pontiac.
