Oxford Man Shoots Ceiling in Domestic Assault Incident

INCIDENT: 13:03 Hrs. – Oct. 17 – Oxford Township – Domestic Assault / Weapons Violation #14-164675
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to an address in the 500 block of Worthington on a report of a Domestic Assault. Upon arrival Deputies determined that the live-in boyfriend was packing up his belongings when an argument began that apparently turned physical. The victim indicated her boyfriend then grabbed his handgun and put it to his head stating that he was going to kill himself. The responsible then discharged the weapon into the ceiling of the home.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The responsible was located by responding deputies in a vehicle attempting to leave the area and was taken into custody without incident. The handgun along with two other long guns was located inside the residence and taken as evidence. A LEIN check on the handgun revealed that it had not been registered. The responsible was lodged in the Oakland County Jail on an active suicide watch for Domestic Assault, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, and Possession of an Unregistered Handgun.
ARRESTEE INFORMATION: 24 yr. old male, resident of Oxford Twp.
VICTIM INFORMATION: 22 yr. old female, resident of Oxford Twp.
