Purse Snatcher in Independence Twp. Trips Up and Gets Caught

INCIDENT:  11:00 Hrs. –Oct. 16 – Independence Township – Purse Snatching/Strong Arm Robbery #14-164010
SUMMARY: Deputies were dispatched to the Kroger Store at 6625 Dixie Highway on a report of a purse snatching.  The victim was walking in the parking lot when she was approached by a male subject who took her purse from her shopping cart.  The subject fled with the purse but fell in the parking lot, spilling the contents. The subject left the items, ran to a nearby vehicle and fled the scene.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:   Deputies and Detectives conducted a search of the area for the suspect but with negative results.  A witness obtained a license plate number from the suspect vehicle.  The investigation revealed the identification of the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody today (10-17-14) by detectives and lodged at the OCJ pending charges.
SUSPECT INFORMATION: 29 yr. old male, resident of Independence Twp.
VICTIM INFORMATION:  35 yr. old female, resident of Independence Twp.
