Commercial Lawn Mower Claims Part of Man’s Foot in Rochester Hills Accident
(Oakland County Sheriff’s Dept, Oct. 10, 2014)
INCIDENT:  14:42 Hrs. – Oct. 9 – City of Rochester Hills – Assist Fire /
Commercial/Industrial Accident.   14-160062
SUMMARY: Deputies, along with Rochester Hills Fire Department (RHFD) responded to Avon and Avon Circle Roads on a report of a commercial accident involving a grass mowing machine. Upon arrival, the subject was found lying on the ground next to a grass mowing machine with a partial foot amputation.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The subject said that he was working for a sub-contractor cutting the grass and weeds along Avon Road. The subject was operating the mowing machine when his foot got caught under the mowing deck cutting off a portion of his foot. RHFD treated and transported the subject to McLaren Oakland Medical Center. He is in in serious condition. MIOSHA was notified of the incident and will continue the investigation. VICTIM INFORMATION: 21 yr. old male, resident of Fraser.
