Man Stopped Bringing Gun into Courthouse

INCIDENT: 09:15 hrs. – Sept. 26 – City of Pontiac – Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) Violation 6th Circuit Court – #14-152660
SUMMARY: Deputies at the 6th Circuit Court located a loaded firearm in a leather bag as a subject was entering the courthouse security checkpoint. Deputies located the firearm as the bag was placed into the X-ray scanner. The subject was at the court for an estate hearing and said he forgot the weapon was in his bag. He stated the gun was not his and he received it from his sister’s home after she passed recently. The handgun was a .32 cal. Beretta semi-automatic pistol.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The suspect did not have a concealed pistol license to carry the pistol. He was taken into custody and was lodged at the Oakland County Jail on the charge of CCW.
