Warren Man Dead from Downed Power Line, Storm Damage Through Area

A swift but powerful storm hit SE Michigan Friday night, causing downed trees and branches, downed power lines and at least one death.
Click on Detroit reports that a man at 13870 Julius Ave in Warren went into his backyard without realizing there was an electrical line down, and was killed by the electricity.
In Ferndale CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team) volunteers were called in to help guard live wires.
Approximately 350,000 people are without power as of late Friday night. In Oakland County the outages are focused on the southernmost communities, with Oak Park, Hazel Park, Berkley and Royal Oak all showing large sections without power. The Farmington Hills area and Auburn Hills were also hard hit.
