Pontiac Teenager Accidentally Shoots Self in the Thigh

INCIDENT: 12:20 hrs. – Aug. 29 – City of Pontiac – Accidental Shooting – # 14-136500
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to McLaren Oakland Hospital for a subject in the Emergency Room suffering from a gunshot wound to his right thigh. Upon initial contact the victim was not cooperative with Deputies as to what happened. Victim then indicated he was shot last night near his home in Pontiac. However, the victim’s mother stated her son came home around 12 noon and told her he had just been shot.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: A Detective responded to the Hospital and after further investigation it appears the subject was at home (100 block of Baldwin) playing with a gun and discharged the weapon. The subject is being treated for a non- life threatening leg injury. Investigation Continues.
VICTIM: 18 year old Pontiac resident.
