The Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division provides our only funding for a full-time professional caseworker. In 2012-13, the TYA Caseworker processed more than 50 in-house referrals and information referrals to outside sources. We are also sponsored by in-kind support from the Troy School District and the City of Troy.
The 5k proceeds enable us to provide summer camp and skill-building scholarships to qualified youth in the Troy community. We also present two six-week parenting workshops along with family education programs such as “How Smart is a Smart Phone”, sponsor after-school parties and activities for select Elementary School students and recognize the accomplishments of Troy youth at our Annual Youth Recognition Awards Program.
THE MISSION of the Troy Youth Assistance is to strengthen youth and families and to reduce the incidence of delinquency, abuse, and neglect through community involvement. Our volunteers work with professional staff to develop enriching programs aimed at enhancing family and community relationships.
