A Life Saved from Suicide in Lyon Townshipseed09_jeannie_davis

INCIDENT:  07:40 hrs. – Aug.22– Lyon Township – Suicidal Subject on Bridge  #14-131420
SUMMARY:  A Deputy was dispatched to the area of I-96 and Old Plank Road for a suspicious person. Upon arrival a Deputy observed a subject who was standing on the Old Plank Rd overpass of Interstate 96.  The Subject was facing traffic with his hands on the waist high overpass wall.  The subject was visibly seed030_Laurinda Rossupset and crying. The Deputy attempted to talk and offer help to the subject.  The subject continued to shake his head no.  The subject refused to communicate and after several minutes the subject started rocking back and forth giving the impression that he was about to catapult himself over the overpass wall on the Intestate freeway to commit suicide. The Deputy deployed his Taser preventing the subject from jumping off of the overpass and into traffic. 
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  The subject was secured by the Deputy and then transported by Huron Valley Ambulance to Providence Park Hospital in Novi for evaluation. The Sheriff’s Office Operations Center was notified that the subject was minutes earlier reported as a missing person / suicidal subject from Milford PD. The subject had left a suicide note at his residence.
