Resource Centers Set Up for Flood Victimskeith dalton ad

Residents and businesses impacted by this week’s storms and flooding will be able to meet face to face with multiple government and human service agencies next week. Oakland County Homeland Security Division, in partnership with the State of Michigan, will set up multi- agency resource centers or MARCs in Troy on Monday and Tuesday and in Southfield on Wednesday and Thursday.
“The flooding impacted thousands of individuals who now have many questions about how to recover from this disaster,” Patterson said. “The MARCs will be an opportunity to meet with experts who can answer ctechadsome of those questions.”
Individuals will be able to discuss issues related to the historic rainfall with representatives from state, local, human service and volunteer organizations. They include the Oakland County Health Division, Oakland County Homeland Security Division, Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority, Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services, Michigan Department of Human Services, Michigan State Police, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster, Area Agency on Aging 1-B, and Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency, among others.
The Troy MARC will be open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois Road north of Big Beaver.
The Southfield MARC will be open 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road south of the I-696 expressway.
