Man Assaulted at Hank Williams Jr. Concert Faces Life-Threatening Injuries

UPDATE: The Victim Robert Kobe was pronounced deceased today (Aug. 19) at 12:04 pm, by Dr. Doyle of McLaren Hospital Pontiac.  The investigation will continue pending the outcome of an autopsy.  
INCIDENT: 20:55 Hrs. – Independence Township (DTE Music Theatre) – Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm.   #14-129303
SUMMARY: Deputies assigned to DTE for the Hank Williams Jr. Concert responded to an assault that occurred in the concourse area.  Upon arrival Deputies found a 55 yr. old male subject laying on the ground in a pool of blood and bleeding from his head.  Witnesses indicated the male victim  was pushed once by another subject and hit his head on the concrete when he fell.  After the incident the suspect tried to leave but was detained by the witnesses until the Deputies arrived. 
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  There were several witnesses to this incident and all were able to identify the suspect who pushed the victim down.   The suspect was identified as a 15 year old male.  The juvenile suspect was detained and he and  his father were transported to the Independence Twp. Substation to be interviewed.    A Detective and an Evidence Technician responded to assist in the investigation.The victim was transported priority one to McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac and is in critical condition. He may not survive according to doctors.  The juvenile suspect was lodged in Oakland County Children’s Village pending a review by the Prosecutor’s Office. 
VICTIM, SUSPECT or ARRESTEE INFORMATION: (Victim):  55 yr. old male resident of Westland.  (Juvenile Suspect): 15 yr. old resident of Wayne.
