Ferndale Police Search for Charter One Bank Robber
(Lt. Wilson, Ferndale Police Dept, Aug. 15, 2014)
On Weds. 08/13/14) at about 1:20 p.m. Ferndale Police responded to a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Charter 1 Bank at 23001 Woodward. The suspect had already fled the scene.
Investigation showed that a man entered the bank at about 12:35 p.m. and spoke with the manager claiming to be interested in opening an account. The suspect then displayed a devise that he claimed was a bomb and demanded money. Bank employees cooperated and gave the suspect money. The suspect fled on foot into the nearby neighborhood.
Ferndale Police and the FBI are investigating. Police request that anybody with information phone Ferndale Police (248-541-3650) or CrimeStoppers (1-800-SPEAKUP) to leave an anonymous tip and receive up to a $1000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Black Male
55-60 years old
Thin build
5’8” to 6’0”
Goatee
Long messy hair
Last seen wearing: Light colored Pittsburg Steelers ball cap, white shirt, tan vest, grey jeans and brown Timberland Boots.
