Motorcyclist Dies after Being Hit by Suspected Drunk Driver in Pontiac

INCIDENT: 18:41 Hrs. – Aug. 6- City of Pontiac- Fatal Crash Investigation / Crash Reconstruction Unit Assist. #14-122795
SUMMARY: Deputies, along with the Waterford Regional Fire Authority,responded to the area of Martin Luther King Blvd and Chandler for a Personal Injury Crash involving a passenger car and a motorcycle. The motorcycle, a 2007 Suzuki, was being driven by a 24 yr. old resident of Detroit northbound on Martin Luther King Blvd. As the motorcycle approached Chandler a 2003 Cadillac, driven by a 62 yr. old resident of Pontiac turned into the path of the motorcycle.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Deputies on scene requested the assistance of the OCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac by the Waterford Fire Authority. The driver of the motorcycle was subsequently pronounced deceased at 19:01 Hrs.The driver of the Cadillac was not injured but was transported to McLarenOakland Hospital as well for blood draw was conducted pursuant to Search Warrant, as alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet, and the driver of the Cadillac was
wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. The investigation continues.
VICTIM, SUSPECT or ARRESTEE INFORMATION: (Driver #1 – Deceased): 24 yr. old male resident of the City of Detroit. (Driver #2): 62 yr. old male resident
of Pontiac.
