17 Year Old Driver Killed in Police Chase Identifiedspiritual life ferndale

The driver of a stolen vehicle who died Thursday in a fatal crash during a police chase has been identified as 17-year-old DeAngelo Woods of Detroit according to the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s office. Woods was driving a Jeep that had been reported stolen from Madison Heights.
An earlier police report gave details of the incident:
“DETAILS: Approx. 1:45am Officer observed above vehicles in the neighborhood North of 9 Mile & East of John R driving in tandem slowly up & down side streets.
Ofc. Attempted an investigatory stop at 9 Mile & John R at which time the Impala fled N/B John R at High rate of speed, the Jeep fled W/B 9 Mile to S. Chrysler reaching speeds of 70mph. The Jeep proceeded to S/B seed029_keyser_familyI-75 where it reached speeds of up to 100 and attempted to exit at 7 Mile where the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle. 1 passenger was ejected and transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead. 2 others fled on foot from the scene where 1 was apprehended in an abandoned house near Cardoni & Emery, 1 subject evaded capture.
The Jeep is a confirmed stolen vehicle out of Madison Heights. The Impala was not located. Investigation continues as is the process of identifying the decedent. Further information as it becomes available.”
Michigan State Police were called to help with the investigation.
