(Pagan Pride Detroit Press Release, Aug. 7)
The Greater Detroit chapter of the Pagan Pride Project, a global non-profit dedicated to the elimination of prejudice and religious discrimination, Pagan Pride Detroit presents our 7th Annual Pagan Pride Day, with the theme “We are ALL Family” on August 9th, 2014 in Green Acres Park, GreenAcres Park, Hazel Park, MI. Festivities go from 10:30am to 7pm.
This year marks our 7th year celebrating the wonders and joy of life in the Metro Detroit Area Pagan Community. We are honored to be able to once again invite all of you to come out and celebrate with us. Come let us MBREW draft onegather together and create a Sacred Space for the Creation of New Unions as we host “Our Big Fat Pagan Wedding!” this year. Whether getting Handfasted to your Mate, renewing your vows, or entering a Legally Binding Marriage, this celebration is open to you to participate or simply attend. Pagan Pride Detroit has joined with the local Pagan community to facilitate Pagan Clergy to act as Officiants for Handfastings and Marriages. All are legally ordained and at your service. All of the Clergy involved have volunteered their services to the community as a gift of Love. Come celebrate the beginning of your Family in the embrace of the community. To register please visit the website registration and click the appropriate links for additional information. All services are free on this day.
Our Class Tracks this year include: Pagan Family Services / Ceremonies and Ritessidebar016grow & Rites of Passage / Practical Magick & Application / Holistic Health & Wellness, and many more. “The mission of the Pagan Pride Project is to foster pride in Pagan identity through education, activism, charity and community” and can be found in further detail at www.paganprideproject.org. Admission is a suggested donation of one nonperishable food item. During this time of Harvest, we continue the food drive that Pagan Pride Project has at its heart for charitable activity in order to continue our mission here at Pagan Pride Detroit, Service Before Status. We are a non-profit corporation that works toward religious tolerance between all faiths and fights against discrimination based on religious beliefs.
We had a wonderful time last year with the over 400 patrons who attended our event and our vendors provided a wide array of items for them to enjoy.
