Sheriff’s Department Reports Multiple Suspected Drug Deaths

There have been multiple suspected drug deaths reported by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department in recent days. The fatalities are detailed below:
INCIDENT: 14:12 Hrs. – July 30, 2014 – Oxford Township – Death Investigation – #14-118493
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the 600 Block of North Lapeer Road for an unresponsive subject in a pickup truck at the McDonald’s Restaurant. The complainant stated the vehicle had been parked in the lot for a few hours. Attempts were made to wake the subject but were unsuccessful. The Oxford Township Fire Department responded and pronounced the subject deceased via McLaren Oakland ER.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Detectives and an Evidence Technician responded to the scene. Deputies found no obvious signs of foul play. The scene was processed for evidence and possible narcotics were located in the vehicle. The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and took custody of the deceased for an autopsy. The investigation continues pending the results of the autopsy.
VICTIM: 29 year old resident of Leonard.

INCIDENT: 22:50 Hrs. – July 31, 2014 – Highland Township – Death Investigation/Detective Call-Out. #14-119384.
SUMMARY: Deputies responded along with Highland Township Fire Department to an address in the 5200 block of Connors Lane, on a report of a possible overdose. The complainant reported his son was slumped over in the bathroom and unresponsive. Complainant stated there was drug paraphernalia in plain sight and his son has a history of substance abuse.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Highland Twp. Fire Department and Star EMS responded and began CPR. The subject was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. A Detective along with an Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to assist in the investigation. The Investigation continues pending the outcome of an autopsy.
VICTIM, SUSPECT or ARRESTEE INFORMATION: 34 yr. old resident of Highland Twp.

INCIDENT: 00:25 Hrs. –Aug. 1, 2014 – Independence Twp. – Death Investigation/Detective Call-Out. #14-119420.
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the 100 block of Surrey Lane for a possibly deceased person. A friend discovered the victim in the living room obviously deceased and indicated she had a history of drug abuse.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Independence Fire Department arrived and the victim was pronounced deceased on scene via McLaren Oakland Hospital. There were no obvious signs of foul play. A Detective along with an Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to assist in the investigation. The Investigation continues pending the outcome of an autopsy.
VICTIM, SUSPECT or ARRESTEE INFORMATION: 24 yr. old resident of Independence Twp.

INCIDENT: 12:17 hrs. – Aug. 2, 2014 – City of Pontiac- Death Investigation- #14-119631
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the 100 block of Beach for a report of a possibly deceased person in an abandoned house. The caller advised dispatch that the subject was a known drug user. Deputies and Star EMS arrived and located a subject lying on a couch in the residence. Star EMS pronounced the subject deceased via a Doctor @ McLaren Oakland Hospital. Deputies discovered drug paraphernalia scattered around the house.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Detectives along with an Investigator from Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to assist in the investigation. The investigation continues pending the results of the autopsy.
DECEASED: 48 year old, Resident of Pontiac.
