(Crystal A. Proxmire, July 29, 2014)
A Madison Heights neighborhood was blocked off by police at about 2pm Tuesday after a suspect ran away from the scene of a traffic stop. Lt. Anderson of the Madison Heights Police Department said that the man had been pulled over by State Police in the parking lot of Diamond Jim’s, at the corner of 11 Mile Road and Stevenson Highway.
“The driver was fighting withe the trooper, and Madison Heights and Royal Oak Police were called in. By the time we arrived on scene, he had fled into the neighborhood. The State Police had secured a perimeter. While this was going on we got a call on Mace Street of someone trying to get into the house. The State Police went to the house and arrested the suspect there.”
