Man Hospitalized w/Burns and Arrested after Setting Fire to Ex’s Home in Highland Twp.waterwork

INCIDENT:  02:55 Hrs. July 19 – Highland Township – Arson/Fire Investigator Call-Out.              #14-111654.
SUMMARY: Deputies were investigating a PPO violation [personal protection order] in the 2900 block of Loch Lomond Ct West.  The victim reported she was afraid as her ex-boyfriend was calling her in violation of an existing PPO.  The responding Deputy made contact with the responsible and he indicated he did not want to tlive anymore and was going to burn the house down.  Highland Twp. Fire Department then received word of a structure fire in 2900 block of Loch Lomond Ct. West which was the victim’s residence.  Upon arrival Deputies located the responsible exiting the trailer with burns on his arms, and he was taken into custody without incident.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The responsible was transported to Huron Valley Medical Center, by Star EMS for treatment of the burns on his arms and smoke inhalation.  Highland Twp. Fire Chief requested an OCSO Fire Investigator to the scene.  Fire investigators responded along with the OCSO Arson K9 to investigate.  It was determined the fire was in fact arson and the responsible poured gasoline into a garbage can and lit it.  The responsible was admitted to the hospital and placed on a ventilator in the ICU. keith dalton ad The responsible remains in custody at the Hospital for Arson and Violation of a PPO, warrant request will be submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor for review.
