Music in the Park Makes a Comeback at Kulick
(C. Proxmire, July 19, 2014)
It’s been over six years since free concerts regularly graced the parks of Ferndale. The effort was revived Friday by the Ferndale Arts and Cultural Commission, who presented Ryan Dillaha and the Miracle Men at the Kulick Center Park.
Ferndalians of all ages, including a few well-behaved members of the canine community, turned out for the tradition’s comeback. The commission sold hot dogs and chips for donations to raise money for future shows.
The band played songs inspired by life in Ferndale and the Detroit Area, as well as a couple of covers. And of course the ever-majestic “Leaves of the Grass,” inspired by Walt Whitman.
Ryan Dillaha and the Miracle Men will also be playing at the Pig and Whiskey Festival on Sunday at 4:40 pm. Read more about Pig and Whiskey at https://oaklandcounty115.com/2014/07/09/pig-whiskey-in-downtown-ferndale-july-18-20/.
