No Injuries as Teen Shoots Randomly at Park in Pontiac

INCIDENT: 20:55 Hrs July 5. – City of Pontiac – Shooting/Weapons Violation #14-103631
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to North End Park in the area of Marquette and Edison on a report of shots fired. Witnesses stated a juvenile pulled out a gun in the park and began shooting randomly. The witness had followed the subject for approximately two blocks, while relaying his location to dispatch.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The suspect fled the area on foot and was subsequently located by deputies on a nearby street and taken into custody without incident. A loaded handgun was recovered near the suspect when he was arrested. Shell casings were also recovered at the scene. The handgun was found to have been reported stolen by Oak Park DPS.. The suspect was lodged at Children’s Village pending a review by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
