Oxford Teen Seriously Injured Doing Motorcycle Wheelies

INCIDENT: 21:31 Hrs. – June 28 – Oxford Twp. – Private Property Serious Injury Accident/Crash Reconstructionist Assist. – #14-99042
SUMMARY: Deputies were dispatched to an address in the 2300 block of Granger Rd. with Oxford Twp. FD. A motorcycle accident occurred in the driveway of the residence.Witnesses advised the driver of the motorcycle was doing “wheelies” in the driveway when he struck the rear of a parked truck. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle, lost his helmet, and impacted onto the concrete driveway.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The driver was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital with serious head trauma. Deputies on scene requested the assistance of the Crash Reconstruction Unit and the on-call Crash Investigators were notified and responded. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
