Madison Hts. Teacher Charged with Criminal Sexual Conductsidebar016grow

On Friday, May 16th, 2014, parents of a Bishop Foley High School student, accompanied by the President of Bishop Foley High School, filed a complaint with the Madison Heights Police Department. The complaint alleged ctechadthat inappropriate conduct occurred between a staff member of Bishop Foley High School and a student.
The Madison Heights Police Department concluded its investigation into this complaint and forwarded it to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office. The complaint alleged that Kathryn Ronk, a 29 year old Birmingham resident engaged in multiple acts of sexual penetration with a 15 year-old student. Ronk was employed as a Spanish teacher by Bishop Foley High School at the time of the offenses and the victim was a student of hers. The acts occurred in her classroom at Bishop Foley High School. The Oakland County Prosecutors Office authorized a five count warrant against Ronk. Kathryn Ronk   is charged with five counts of   Criminal Sexual Conduct – First Degree. Criminal Sexual Conduct – First Degree is a felony Street-Eatzz-Adpunishable by up to life in prison.
On Wednesday June 25th, 2014, Kathryn Ronk turned herself in to the Madison Heights Police Department and was arraigned by Magistrate James Paterson. Bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety 10%. Ronk was also ordered to wear a GPS tether if bond was posted. Kathryn Ronk posted the $50,000 bond and was released. A Preliminary Exam Conference waterworkis scheduled for July 9th, 2014, at 8:00am in the 43rd District Court. This completes our investigation into the allegations of misconduct in Madison Heights, however Ronk may still face charges in Macomb County.
