Taser Demo, Guns, Jail Tour and More from Rochester Police (video)
(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 21, 2014)
For people who wanted an up close look at police work, this year’s Rochester Police Open House was an eye-opening experience. Held earlier this month, the event brought the community together to learn more about the Department and what their officers do. There was a bike rodeo for kids to get their bikes licensed and checked, and kids were able to get balloons from a friendly clown. They also got to see how tasers work, and what a variety of guns look like up close. The jail tour also gave participants a chance to see what cells look like, and a peek inside a Homeland Security helicopter.
