Ferndale Relay for Life Raises Money for American Cancer Society
(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 16, 2014)
This weekend was the annual Relay for Life event at Ferndale High School. The event honors cancer survivors, celebrates caretakers, gives hope to those fighting the disease, and remembers lives that have been lost. Community members raise money for the American Cancer society for research and support programs.
This year’s theme was Superheroes, so many walkers donned capes or clothing with their favorite heroes on them. They raised $52,000 this year.
Before the event, Michelle Ruth shared her story: https://oaklandcounty115.com/2014/06/06/a-survivor-story-why-michelle-ruth-is-ready-to-relay-on-june-14/.
