Cashier Arrested for Embezzlement at Western Market in Ferndale
(Ferndale Police, June 16, 2014)
On June 10, 2014, Ferndale Police arrested Tracy WINDHAM for embezzlement. Officers were called to Western Market after owners noticed unusual money transactions in their records. Investigation showed that Windham had been regularly stealing money from cash registers since December of last year. Her method of operation was to ring up false refunds and pocket the “refunded” amount of money. Register records indicated she did this about 80 times and took a total of about $7500 dollars. She confessed to embezzling money from the store, and said in part it was to help her mother’s failing business.
On 06/12/14, Windham was arraigned by Magistrate Brennan for Felony Embezzlement and he set her bond at $10,000 cash/surety.
